Growing Ginkgo in New Zealand
Nature Green’s trials prove that we are producing superior leaf because of our unique climate, soils, location. clean air and fresh water.

Our leaf contains some of the highest levels of Terpene Lactones and Flavone Glycosides found in the world. Research shows this is due to the Mediterranean type climate and rich soils found in our commercial growing areas.

The essential requirements for growing Ginkgo trees are very simple;

 A reliable clean water source and irrigation system
 Flat land
 A managed fertilizing and weeding programme

Nature Green NZ Ltd. provides the following support and expertise to growers;

Growers manual - a comprehensive plan and information to produce a good crop
Ongoing testing and monitoring
Ongoing growers support from Nature Green NZ Ltd. (all relationships are contractual)
Innovation
Our company prides itself on forward thinking and innovation. Through working with engineers and growers, mechanical harvesting is now active in our crops. 100% ‘Kiwi’ innovation at its best!

By using a mechanical harvester there are many benefits for growers. It is labour saving, cost effective and helps ensure quality leaf is collected while caring for the tree ensuring future growth.

When harvested, our premium leaf is aired and statically dried in controlled conditions to maximise the quality before being extracted into Ginkgo biloba powder.
